The Past Two weeks and updates...
Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting my Blog. Hopefully you can use this as tool for whenever God puts me and my ministry on your hearts and you want to check up on what is going on! I haven't gotten the chance to Blog in a few weeks because I have been traveling all over and visiting campuses, but I am going to try and give you a quick recap about what is going on at a few campuses I have visited so far:
Midland Lutheran:
For the first Campus Crusade for Christ kick-off meeting, the Midland Lutheran CCC leaders had a beach party at a nearby lake. 110 students showed up for the event to check things out and sat on the sandy beach as one of our intern staff shared his testimony and message of the gospel. Praise God that 1/7th of the students on that campus heard the gospel their first week of classes!
Chadron State College:
Currently at Chadron the students have launched 20 spiritual movements on their campus. This means that currently 60 students are plugged into a small group where they can grow in their relationship with God and each other. If each of these movements split once they double in size, potentially 120 plus students could be involved by the end of the year. Last year we experienced movements multiplying three times over, we pray this happens again next year! How exciting would it be to see 50 plus spiritual movements happening on different dorm floors on campus and reaching out to every pocket group of people!
Peru State College:
I have yet to visit Peru, but I heard word that 500 plus students showed up to their first kick-off event to introduce students to Campus Crusade for Christ being on their campus...Praise God! Currently around 50 students have been showing up at their weekly meetings. The student leaders are really excited about what this next year is going to look and are excited to see God at work and moving on their campus!
University of Kearney:
In the past UNK has had full-time staff working with the student leaders on campus. This year UNK is a part of the NE Catalytic staff which means the students are learning to take ownership over their campus in ways they never experienced before. It has been somewhat of a tough transition for the students having staff who isn't present at every meeting and on campus each week, but God has provided UNK with two volunteer staff who live in Kearney and are willing to help the students get on their own feet. These two staff are a huge blessing to the UNK campus and we are so grateful for the both of them. They are an answer to prayer!
Doane College:
At the weekly meeting this week around 30 students were present. By the end of the meeting the students were ready to launch 11 eleven spiritual movements on their campus. Praise God that every student at the meeting got plugged into their own small group! It isn't just enough for a campus to have a weekly meeting, it is our prayer that each student is also involved in true authentic, genuine relationships where they can discover for themselves who God is.
Thanks for taking the time to read this weeks blog. At the end of each week I will continue to post more stories so visit again!
